A Taste of History...
In tribute to the two people most responsible for Jerry's Cajun Cafe & Market, I have dedicated this establishment to my parents, Audrey and Benny Mistretta. With their unending trust and encouragement, I was able to fulfill my childhood dream of opening my own restaurant. From those roots came this new building. It has been built from the heart, with the same character that my parents worked so hard to instill in all of our family. And as I have stated many times, God has blessed me not only with a thriving restaurant, but with my wonderful family. Life is good!
I thank Audrey and Benny for their strong support during my planning and preparation for the opening of the first "Jerry's" back in August of 1993. During those five years at the original restaurant I had the privilege of meeting so many extraordinary individuals. I look forward to the opportunity to visit with old and new friends at our brand new building. I call it "part two" of my dream. I never imagined it would be so rewarding.
My wonderful dad, Benny, died on July 20th, 2001 at the young age of 86. He was, indeed, the best!
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My inspiration, passion, sense of humor and integrity all came from my mom and dad. My dad's spirit will continue to live on in me and in my brothers and sisters. My mother continues her love for all of us by keeping a strong and constant union with God and family.
